The Earliest Reasonably Obtainable View of Philadelphia
Fine large format view of Philadelphia, with inset views of the State House and Battery, which appeared in the London Magazine.
The view is based on George Heap's famed drawing of the City, created in 1752 and published in Philadelphia by Nicolas Scull in about 1754.
Philadelphia's lively waterfront trade and traffic is highlighted.
The view is now rare on the market and most examples have some loss of printed image.
